As whole-home solar power continues to grow in interest and popularity, retailers who carry electric components for contractors and DIYers may want to consider carrying solar kits or some of the individual components needed for installing or repairing solar power systems, including:

  • Photovoltaic panels.
  • Framing for installation/panel-racking systems.
  • Power inverters, optimizers and batteries, such as those by Power Bright, Solar Edge and Tesla.
  • Wires and cabling, conduit, junction boxes and sub-panels, circuit breakers and switch gear and many other items for general electrical setup. Most solar kits do not carry these particular items within their systems and must be sold as add-ons for project completion.

If carrying solar kits and supplies isn’t practical at this time, try adding other solar products to your inventory, such as portable charging stations for cellphones and other small electronics, or solar backup generators, such as the GOAL ZERO Yeti 1250 Solar Generator.
