Consumer demand for ease-of-use packaging and grain-free, non-GMO ingredients have been driving changes in the pet supply category for the last few years. The three product lines below offer improved options for retailers’ shelves.

Taste of the Wild Premium Pet Food. Taste of the Wild recently introduced a new line of premium cat and dog food called Taste of the Wild PREY. The new limited-ingredient formula is non-GMO, grain-free, with no artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, or byproducts. Valley Splendor® Bird Feed. Contracting with local farmers, RedRiver Commodities offers premium-grade quality seed to attract a variety of birds to backyard feeders while keeping prices competitive. The Valley Splendor® line includes Black Oil and Striped Sunflower, Cracked Corn, Finches’ Favorite, Suet and more. St. Albans Bay Suet Plus®. These popular suet cakes now come in easy-to-open candy bar wrapper packaging that has received the North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) Packaging and Merchandising Gold Award for being environmentally friendly, with 80 percent less packaging that is 100-percent recyclable.
